His Unveiled Passion novel Chapter 519

Naomi was nine when she first met Quentin.

Her mother, Mary, had held her hand and smiled at her when she said, "This is your brother. You can call him Quentin."

Naomi looked up at the tall teenage boy who was so much taller than she was. She pursed her lips and obediently greeted him. "Quentin."

However, Quentin did not appreciate the gesture. He turned to look at Naomi with blatant mockery and disdain. Scoffing, he said, "I'm not your brother."

Naomi looked at Mary pitifully and said, "Mom, he doesn't like me."

Mary smiled awkwardly, while Quentin's father, Benjamin, turned to glare at Quentin. "Quentin, she's your sister, Naomi. We'll be one big family from now on."

"I don't want a sister! This is my house! Get out of my house! My mom only has one child, and that child is me! I don't have a sister!" Quentin said as he yanked Naomi's braid, his face red from anger.

"Quentin, what are you doing! Let go of her!" Benjamin roared.

Naomi immediately cried out in pain from having her hair yanked. "Mommy…"

Mary had not expected Quentin to have such an extreme reaction, and she quickly reached out to stop him. "Quinn, let go. You're hurting Naomi."

Quentin glared at both Mary and Naomi before he yelled stubbornly, "You two should get out of my house! I don't want a stepmother or a sister!"

Benjamin slapped Quentin across the face. His chest rose and fell heavily as he roared, "You have no right to make such a decision in this house! Let go right now!"

As Quentin let go of Naomi's braid, a bright red handprint appeared on his cheek. "I'll leave this house, then! I don't want you as my dad either!"

Quentin had proceeded to run away from home that day.

He was only 14 years old and still a junior in high school. He was in his rebellious phase and defiant to the core.

Mary looked at Benjamin with concern. "Quinn, he…"

Benjamin was pale, and the anger in his eyes was still apparent. "Forget him. He'll come back when he runs out of money."

As it turned out, Benjamin was right.

He was irritated by her cries, so he stormed over, snatched her doll, and threw it to the floor. "Just seeing you annoys me!"

Naomi's cries grew even louder, slowly drawing the attention of their housekeepers.

"Miss, what's wrong?" A housekeeper rushed over anxiously and paused when they saw the disheveled Quentin. "Mr. Taylor, you're back."

Coincidentally, Benjamin was home that day. He had come out to check on things when he overheard Naomi's cries.

He immediately understood what had happened when he saw Naomi crying her heart out while her doll was on the ground beside her.

He grabbed Quentin by the ear and snapped, "You brat, did you bully Naomi again?"

Hence, Quentin, who had just returned after running away from home, received another beating from his father for bullying Naomi.

Just like that, the grudge between the two had been established.
