His Unveiled Passion novel Chapter 412

"One time, I overheard a classmate talking badly about Jane behind her back, so I got into a huge fight with them. I really did all that because I cared for her, and not because I wanted to make myself look better…"

Marrissa sobbed before burying her face in her hands, her shoulders trembling as she cried.

Tessa did not know how to comfort Marissa, so she just patted Marissa's back gently.

"Perhaps I was in the wrong. Jane has always been sensitive and insecure. I should have taken her pride and insecurities into consideration…" Marissa said as she choked on her sobs.

Tessa sighed and said, "You should be more careful with the friends you make in the future."

By the time they arrived at Marissa's home, her eyes were red and swollen from all her crying.

When the car stopped, she wiped her eyes and said, "Thank you, Tessa. I owe you my life. If you ever need any help, don't hesitate to say the word."

"Alright. I won't hold back when the time comes, then," Tessa replied.

Tessa had just left Marissa's home and returned to her office when her receptionist informed her that Stephen was here.

The second she pushed open her office door, Stephen immediately shot to his feet and walked up to her. His expression was filled with worry as he examined her from head to toe.

"Tess, are you alright? I heard you got into a fight with someone last night. Are you hurt?"

Tessa stood there and gave Stephen a weird look. "Who did you hear that from?"

"A friend from the police station told me about it," he replied, his voice filled with worry.

There was an unreadable emotion in Tessa's eyes as she said, "Then, you should know that Marissa was drugged, and those people were targeting her, not me. Honestly, the whole thing had nothing to do with me. I just lent a helping hand and saved her."

That afternoon, Tessa received a call from Matthew, asking to meet to discuss the divorce case.

The court hearing was scheduled to begin in a few days, and Tessa had made the necessary preparations.

Matthew had also been discharged from the hospital. He was currently renting a small apartment and living separately from Yanis.

Tessa drove to his apartment and immediately saw a man walking toward her when she got out. It was only when the man got closer that Tessa realized the man was Zachary.

He was wearing some cheap clothes that probably cost him a few dollars, and the luxury watch he usually wore was gone.

His hair was a mess, no longer slicked back with gel. The stubble around his chin also made it seem like he had not shaved in a long time.
