His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 743

Jonathan knelt before Niamh's grave for a full five hours.

Prescott waited in the car at the bottom of the hill for a full five hours.

When Jonathan finally returned, Prescott noticed that his suit trousers were completely ruined.

Prescott opened his mouth, but in the end, said nothing.

Jonathan's life returned to normal.

But it only seemed normal.

With The Thomas Group back in Jonathan's hands, Sprague was delighted.

He had always known that once Niamh was completely out of Jonathan's life, his son would revert to being the elite heir he had so carefully groomed.

"Jonathan, this is Ms. Rivers, the daughter of Mr. Rivers from Consolidated Petroleum. Come and get acquainted."

At a glittering cocktail party, Sprague introduced Jonathan to a young woman. She was sweet-looking and carried herself with the grace of someone from high society, clearly a few years younger than Jonathan.

"Mr. Thomas, it's a pleasure. My name is Eleanor Rivers."

When she extended her hand, Jonathan politely took it for a brief shake.

"Hello, Ms. Rivers. You share a last name with my wife."

Eleanor's sweet smile froze on her face.

Beside her, Mr. Rivers' expression immediately soured as he shot a look at Sprague.

Sprague's eyes flashed with obvious anger, but he had to maintain a false smile.

"Jonathan, what are you saying? This isn't the time or place for jokes."

After reprimanding his son, Sprague quickly turned back to Mr. Rivers with a laugh. "Please forgive him, Mr. Rivers. Jonathan is single. My son just has a strange sense of humor…"

"I'm not joking."

Jonathan held up his left hand, turning the back of it toward Eleanor.

"You see? I'm wearing a wedding ring on my finger."

"Jonathan!" Sprague hissed under his breath.

Sure enough, a simple, elegant platinum band rested on Jonathan's left ring finger. It clearly wasn't a mere fashion accessory.

Eleanor exchanged a glance with her father, her eyes showing her annoyance at having been misled.

"Eleanor, let's go."
