Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 1405

In order to trade for one of the Lineage's legacies, Sylas needed 100,000 points. And these were just the lesser Lineages. If he wanted one of the top four—the Whale, the Serpent, the Ape, or the Lion—it would cost anywhere from one million to over four million.

These prices were practically arbitrary, and looking at them now, Sylas could tell that they were set based on the whims of the Warlords.

The cheapest was actually the one he wanted, the Whale Lineage, at "just" a million. The most expensive was the Lion at 4,500,000 War Points, and the second most expensive was the Serpent at 3,000,000 War Points.

You could practically scale all of this based on which Warlord hated him the most. He had no conflicts with the 713th Whale Warlord, but he had defeated the number one E-tier Serpent Lineage disciple, and he knew that his thwarting of the Bat Lineage had ruined the Lion Lineage's hopes for supremacy.

This wasn't even for the full Lineage either. That was just the price for the F-Grade access to the legacies. If he wanted the E-Grade access, he would have to do it all over again with the E-Grade challenges.

There was a 100x gap between the F-tier and E-tier. Exchanging for an E-Grade reward would require him to turn in 100x the War Points.

But one thing was very clear at a single glance. The War Point rewards for the E-tier were actually far more reasonable.

Since there was already a conversion between F- and E-Grade War Points, then the rewards should be about the same.

But the E-Grade Warlord Challenges offered more than 10x the rewards. Even the lowest offered six-figure rewards, and the highest offered eight figures.

If Sylas was given equivalent rewards in the F-tier, he would be able to complete just a single Warlord Challenge and be rewarded with all four of the top Lineages.

But that was clearly impossible.

This was a hidden pressure release valve. It was obvious they felt that Sylas' odds of completing these tasks were too high, and they didn't actually want to have to hand over their legacies, so they made it more difficult by lowering the rewards.

Sylas would need to run around like a headless chick, clearing the entire list of Challenges, from the simplest Soldier Grade ones all the way up to this so-called Champion Arena just to gather enough points to trade for everything he wanted.

However, there was an obvious solution to all of this.

Ignore the F-tier ones for now, and then clear E-tier challenges, then trade down. He would get more points that way, obviously.

But Sylas wouldn't be nearly as smart as he thought he was if he couldn't see that the Warlord Heads had clearly thought of this already.

Yes, he could do this. But then what?

If he used his E-tier points to trade for the F-tier rewards, then how much more difficult would it be for him to trade for the E-Grade legacies he wanted?

They had obviously seen his strength. They knew that while he could probably clear many of the Soldier and even General Grade challenges, it was impossible for Sylas to clear the Warlord Grade challenges.

Sylas had to agree with them. The scaling of the Warlord Grade challenges were also Astral and Empyrean Grade Dungeons. And there were actually many more of them on the list as though to taunt him.

He didn't have the strength to clear such Dungeons right now. They had recommended stats in the six figures, power that would be approaching the ten figures on Earth.

It was too much.

He could see what they thought would happen. They believed he would get frustrated, then use his E-tier level strength to make things easier on himself. But by then he would run out of the points he would need to make getting the E-Grade legacies possible.

Sylas' expression didn't change much, though. He scanned down the list, his eyes barely flickering at all.

'There are 73,372 F-tier Soldier Grade challenges. 513,604 War Points are available from them.

'There are 21,114 F-tier General Grade challenges. 1,583,550 War Points are available from them.

'Plus 1,389,100 War Points available from the Warlord Grade challenges. That makes a total of 3,486,254 War Points if I clear them all. That is enough to trade for both the Whale and Ape.
