From Sneers to Cheers: Anthea’s Ascent (Anthea ) novel Chapter 427

In the next moment, John's smugness was shattered into oblivion.

What was his $688 to her $749?

He couldn't even measure up to being a little brother!

The superiority he felt around Anthea vanished without a trace.

A mix of embarrassment, awkwardness, and a host of other emotions turned John's face beet-red, too ashamed to even look up.

Anthea, in a rush to get her shopping done, didn't say much. She continued on towards the mall, pulling out her phone to block John on social media.

"John!"

Just then, Linda came running from the other direction.

"Mom..." John turned to look at Linda.

Linda, frowning, asked, "Was that Anthea standing next to you just now?"

John nodded.

Linda, visibly upset, scolded, "John! How many times have I told you to steer clear of people like Anthea? She's not from our world! You're about to head off to college, and she'll be nothing but a barista her whole life! You can't let her ruin your future!"

In Linda's eyes, John was top-tier, unmatched by anyone!

Sure, Anthea was pretty, but she lacked education, background, and came from a family barely scraping by. She was no match for John!

John's face soured, "Mom, you've got it all wrong! Anthea isn't just a barista; she's this year's valedictorian!"

"Do you think I'm a fool? How could someone like her top the exams?"

"I'm not lying! Anthea's been all over the news, just look it up on your phone!" With that, John stormed off.

Linda quickly grabbed her phone to check.

She was stunned.

Not only was Anthea the valedictorian of the year, but she was also the daughter of the owner of Yeager's Delicacies!

Soon, they reached the dock.

A luxurious yacht was moored.

Anthea and Sherman led the way.

Karen and walking behind whispered, "Adah, I'm worried about something."

"What's that?" Adah asked, intrigued.

Karen continued, "I'm worried that Ann might not be able to handle being with Sherman."

Adah was puzzled, "Handle what?"

Karen glanced ahead. Anthea stood on the yacht, and Sherman on the deck, chatting about something. From Karen's angle, Anthea's smile was just visible, her beauty shining under the sun, backed by the blue sky and sea, like a scene from a romance movie.

Karen whispered, "Look at Ann, she's so petite, a breeze could knock her over! And our Sherman? He easily lifts over two hundred pounds at the gym and can run for an hour without breaking a sweat! I'm just worried Ann might not be able to keep up..."
