“I’m fine. I have the apartment keys and my luggage; I will never step foot there again.”
Jewell cheered. “Good! We don’t serve him anymore. Let that scumbag Hudson rot!”

Jade lowered her lashes. “I used to think Hudson was the center of my universe. But now that I’ve cut ties with the past, I feel so much lighter. I can finally be myself.”
Jewell held both her hands and said, “Jade, I’m so happy you finally let him go.”
Jade’s eyes crinkled with a genuine, weary smile.
“I’m happy for myself too.”
The most difficult time had passed; she wasn’t afraid of whatever came next.
Deeper into that night.
Jade decided to stay at Jewell’s place for two more days to let her apartment air out.
The cleaner had already finished and sent photos, which she confirmed on her phone.
The place was spotless; she was satisfied and transferred the payment immediately. Arriving at Jewell’s complex, the two of them chatted as they walked toward the building. Suddenly, Jade felt a cold, heavy gaze on her that made her spine shiver.
She looked over instinctively, her feet frozen in place as Hudson loomed over her.
“You shredded the book, threw away the ring, and blocked me. Are you having fun now?”
“Mr. Walter, you-”
Jade stopped Jewell from speaking for her and turned to face Hudson directly.
“I didn’t ask you to look for me, Hudson.”
Hudson froze, the fists at his sides clenching tight in an instant.
“What did you say to me?”
“I said, I didn’t beg you to look for me.” Her voice was soft, yet it hit like a hammer.

Chapter 74 The Last Stand
“Shredding the sketchbook and taking off the ring were just to prove I’m serious.”
Hudson pressed his lips thin, his jaw tensed with suppressed anger.
“Jade, those things were important to you. You’d destroy them just to prove a point?”
“Maybe they were important once, but they are trash now.” Jade met Hudson’s gaze.
“And if I didn’t do that, how would you know I’m serious? You never listen anyway.”
Hudson stared at her, his eyes looking as if they might bleed from the intensity.
Jade returned his gaze without blinking, her eyes cold and empty.
“When exactly will you sign the divorce papers, Hudson?”
Hudson said coldly, his voice dripping with arrogance.
“I told you, you’re the most suitable Mrs. Walter. I won’t divorce you.”
“The person you think is ‘suitable’ is just a puppet whose every thought you control.
“I’m telling you now, I won’t be obedient anymore. I won’t be meeting your standards.”
Her eyes traced his face as if sketching him one last time before erasing him forever.
“Years ago, if you hadn’t rescued me from those thugs, my life might have been ruined.”

“But I was outside the church when you spoke with John. I heard everything. You married me just to get back at Amara for not choosing you back then. So whatever we had was never about love. At best, we were each getting something we needed. I don’t owe you anything anymore. Instead of dragging this out and turning it into something ugly, you might as well sign the divorce papers now. Let’s part ways while we still can.”
Hudson asked hoarsely, his voice breaking.
“Are you
