Chapter 52 Breaking Point
“Hudson, help me! Please, save me!”
Hudson snapped out of his daze, leaped out of bed, and wrapped his arms around Jade’s waist from behind.
“Jade, stop! It’s not what you think. Just breathe and let me explain.”
Jade fought like a trapped animal, her heart feeling like it was about to detonate in her chest.
“Let go of me! Hudson, you two are revolting. Purely disgusting!”

Hudson’s face went rigid, and his grip loosened instinctively. Jade tore herself free, yanked open a drawer, and grabbed a pair of sharp scissors, charging at Amara.
Amara shrieked, scrambling backward in terror.
“Hudson, help me! Save me, Hudson!”
Jade grabbed the comforter and slashed it with a jagged motion. Duck feathers exploded into the air like snow, and the sheets were shredded seconds later.
The next moment, the blades were inches away from Amara’s thigh.
A hand clamped down hard on Jade’s wrist, pinning it. Hudson tried to lower his voice to soothe her.
“Jade, calm down. Just put them down.”
Jade was shaking with such intense revulsion that her vision blurred. She flipped her wrist and aimed the point of the scissors directly at Hudson’s chest.
Hudson flinched back on reflex, taking two steps away. He stood there, staring at Jade’s tear-filled eyes and her swaying frame, a sharp pang hitting his heart.
“Jade-”
“Hudson, if you love her so much, why the hell did you touch me last night?” Jade’s hand was trembling so hard the scissors were a
blur.
“Was it just to pay me back for forcing you to marry me? You did it just to make me sick, didn’t you?”
Hudson’s lips moved, but the words were hollow.
“I didn’t-”
“If you wanted to disgust me, then congratulations. You succeeded beyond your wildest dreams. I’m sick to my very core!”
Jade’s whole body was a live wire. She screamed the words with every bit of strength left in her lungs.
When she finished, it was as if her soul had left her. Her voice thinned out, breaking into a ragged sob.
“Hudson, I will never believe another word you say. Not one… single… word!”

Hudson’s pupils contracted sharply. His jaw was a hard line of tension, and when he spoke, his voice was a gravelly wreck.
“Jade, just listen to me. It’s not what it looks like. Please, just stop this, okay?”
Jade staggered backward, tears carving hot tracks down her face.
“After all this, you still think I’m just ‘making a scene’?”
She clutched at her chest, clawing at the fabric as if she could pull out the heart that was suffocating her with pain.
“Hudson, loving you is killing me. It hurts too d’mn much. I’m begging you-divorce me. Just let me live… please, Hudson, sign the
papers…”
“What did you just say?” Hudson’s voice was full of disbelief.
“You’re begging me… for a divorce?”
Jade swayed like a reed in the wind, looking as if she’d collapse at any second.
“I can’t breathe anymore, Hudson. I don’t dare love you for another second…”
“Hudson…”
Amara’s weak, pathetic voice drifted from the bedside.
Hudson looked over and saw Amara trembling like a cornered rabbit. As he moved toward her, Jade’s nerves snapped. She beat him to it, rushing Amara, yanking her hair back, and pressing the cold steel of the scissors against her throat.
“Hudson, go get the divorce papers and sign them right now, or I’ll kill her!”
‘Jade, put the scissors down!”
Hudson’s pupils shrank to pinpoints. He never imagined Jade would ever be capable of something this extreme.
‘Have you lost your mind?!”
‘Yes, I’ve lost my mind!” Jade didn’t even bother to wipe the tears streaming down her face. She gritted her teeth, her entire body vibrating with rage.
‘You two drove me to this! Don’t you care about her? Then go sign the damn papers, or she’s dead.”
‘Hudson…”
The sharp blades were pressed into Amara’s neck. She was paralyzed with fear that Jade would slice her jugular in the next
heartbeat.
‘Save me, Hudson… please, Hudson…”
