Chapter 43 The Tipping Point.

Everything looked perfectly normal. So why was she so terrified of seeing a doctor?

Even when Emily suggested bringing in a medical specialist, she had been incredibly resistant.

Hudson had a nagging suspicion that something wasn’t quite right.

But upon closer thought, he couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was.

Standing there quietly for a few seconds, he slipped the papers back into the envelope, pulled out his phone, and typed a message to Rosa.

“Mrs. Walter is deficient in vitamins. Prepare more vegetables and fruits for her meals moving forward.”

Rosa replied, “Understood, Mr. Walter.”

After hitting send, Rosa let out a heavy sigh.

Mr. Walter didn’t seem like he didn’t care about his wife at all.

So how did things escalate to such an irreparable state over an outsider?

Late at night.

Hudson finished up his work and headed downstairs for a glass of water, catching a mouthwatering aroma drifting from the kitchen.

He looked over. A small, warm yellow lamp was turned on in the living room.

Bathed in the soft light, Jade’s delicate face looked as smooth and flawless as porcelain.

She sat at the dining table, taking small bites of her noodles. As she chewed, her cheeks puffed out, making her look like a tiny, eeding hamster.

Watching this scene, Hudson felt as if something had forcefully struck his chest, making his heart tremble.

His long legs moved forward completely involuntarily.

de walked up behind her. She was wearing a pale teal satin slip dress, her graceful curves tantalizingly highlighted by the dim ighting

Because she was sitting, the hem of the slip dress had ridden up, exposing pate, straight legs that practically glowed in the dark.

dudson’s Adam’s apple bobbed. Suddenly feeling inexplicably hot, he unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt and let out a seavy, burning breath.

The slightly heavy sound of his breathing finally caught the attention of Jade, who had been completely focused on eating her spaghetti.

She glanced up, saw it was Hudson, and immediately lowered her head again.

She polished off the rest of the spaghetti in a few quick bites, then picked up her bowl and walked over to the sink to wash it.

Just then, a strong arm suddenly wrapped around her waist, and a heavy head rested on her shoulder. The distinct scent of cedarwood instantly filled her senses.

“I’m hungry too.”

Suppressing her discomfort, Jade finished washing the plate, wiped the water off her hands with a paper towel, and lifted her elbow to jab the man firmly in the stomach.

“There are spaghetti in the fridge. Cook it yourself.”

Hudson slowly loosened his grip. Jade let out a sigh of relief and was about to walk away, but he suddenly grabbed her legs, lifting her up and setting her onto the kitchen island.

The sudden loss of gravity and the freezing marble countertop against her skin made Jade shriek in absolute terror.

“Hudson! You-”

“Mmph-”

Her words and voice were completely smothered by the aggressive pressure on her lips.

Her nightgown was pushed up. His long fingers felt like clusters of open flames, endlessly scorching her smooth skin.

They were incredibly close, and Hudson could inhale the intoxicatingly sweet scent radiating from Jade’s neck.

It was mesmerizing. Utterly addictive.

Hudson had always been a man of immense self-control, but whenever it came to this, he always lost his mind.

His large hand cupped the back of her head. Every time he sensed her trying to dodge, he would simply kiss her deeper.

His fingers tangled in her hair, tugging gently downward as if demanding total submission. She had absolutely nowhere to run.

Instinctive tears were forced to the corners of her eyes, leaving behind a flushed, sultry redness.

Hudson’s lips trailed downward, landing on the sweet-scented crook of her neck.

Jade could finally breathe, gasping for air in quick, shallow pants.

As oxygen returned to her brain, so did her rational thoughts.

She shoved Hudson away with all her might, blindly grabbing a glass cup from the counter and hurling it hard against his chest.

“Don’t touch me!”

Hudson’s expression turned terrifyingly dark.

Seeing him standing perfectly still, Jade grabbed a teapot, ready to hurt that at him too.

In the blink of an eye, her wrists were snatched and pinned forcefully behind her back. Hudson’s solid, muscular frame pressed forward, wedging himself between her thighs.

Jade struggled desperately, raising her knee to kick him.
