Hudson held the pen, his eyes fixed on the document, remaining motionless.

Bastian crossed his long legs, watching the scene with a look of pure amusement.

“I assume Mr. Walter is a rational man. Surely you know which choice is the right one?”

Seeing Hudson’s hesitation, Bert nudged him hard, his tone shifting from a whisper to a cold, audible threat.

“I told you—if you lose the KOE partnership, you’re meeting Hosea’s daughter. Think very carefully!”

“But word is if you lose KOE, you’re being sold off to another family. I doubt Mr. Chairman will give you the chance to see Jade then.”

Hudson met his gaze with a look of pure, icy indifference.

“My personal affairs are none of your concern.”

Bastian shrugged. “Is that so? Then I wish you the best of luck.”

With that, he marched out of the room.
