“Amara, do you really think that if Hudson divorces Jade, he’ll marry you? This city is full of socialites and heiresses he could have his pick of. What does a widow with a daughter have to offer him?”
The words were a brutal, direct hit. The smug confidence on Amara’s face vanished, replaced by a desperate, ugly tension.
She ground her teeth, the words forced through her grit.
“At least Hudson treats me differently than anyone else!”
Emily scoffed again.
“If that’s true, why don’t you call him right now? Ask him to divorce Jade and marry you today. Go on.”
Amara felt as if a hand had closed around her throat. She couldn’t make a sound. Her nails dug into her palms until she bled.
She couldn’t do it.
Because deep down, she realized she was losing her grip on Hudson. She had no idea how far he’d actually go for her anymore.
Emily sat on the sofa with perfect poise.
“Besides, didn’t you promise us you wouldn’t bother my son anymore? Are you taking that back now?”
Amara looked away, refusing to meet Emily’s eyes.
“I’m just telling the truth. Jade killed a Walter heir. Who knows what else she’ll do to hurt this family?”
“That is Walter business, and you have no right to lecture me on it,” Emily’s voice sharpened into a blade.
“Since you said you wouldn’t bother him, pack your things and take your daughter out of here. Don’t play saint to my face while you’re leeching off him behind my back. Hudson might be a fool, but I am not.”

Chapter 197 The Eviction
Amara’s face contorted with a frantic, desperate resistance.
“Emily, Hudson gave us this home! You can’t-”
“I am his mother. My word is law in this family,” Emily cut her off with total authority.

“If you don’t leave on your own, my security team will help you. Choose how you want this to end.”
As if on cue, a dozen suited bodyguards filed into the room.
The sheer physical presence of the men was a silent, terrifying threat.
Amara wanted to scream, to fight, but looking at the wall of men, she had to swallow her rage. She put on a look of wounded, righteous pride.
“Fine. I was only trying to be helpful, but if you won’t listen, so be it. I don’t need your charity. I said I’d leave, and I won’t stay a second longer.”
She grabbed Cortney’s hand and marched toward the door without taking a single suitcase, trying to preserve a shred of fake dignity.
Emily watched her go with a cold smirk. She turned to the lead guard.
“Clear out every scrap of their trash. I want this place sanitized.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
The guards moved with mechanical efficiency.
Behind a cluster of trees not far from the villa.
Amara and Cortney stood in the shadows.
She’d assumed Emily was just trying to scare her. She thought that once they left, Emily would leave too.
But when she saw the guards tossing her and Cortney’s clothes into the street like garbage, she realized the Walters were officially cutting them off.
Amara was shaking with a violent, white-hot rage. She pulled out her phone and called Hudson.
Three times. No answer.

Chapter 197 The Eviction
:
With a snarl of desperation, she dialed Lyndon’s number.
“Lyndon! Where the hell are you?”
Lyndon’s end of the line was deafeningly loud with music and shouting.
“At the club, drinking! What’s your problem?”
Amara’s face twisted in disgust.
Drink, drink, drink. Why don’t you just drink yourself to death?
She took a long, shaky breath, forcing the venom out of her voice.
“Something happened to me and Cortney. We’re coming to find you.”
Inside another villa at Grandview Estate.
Jade received a message and a photo from an anonymous contact.
“Amara Hoyt is heading to the Bluenote Club to find Lyndon Spenser.”
