Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 500

Grace sat in the living room holding Gianna, her mind in a daze.

Gianna seemed to sense that something was wrong with her mother and clung to her tightly, not crying or fussing.

Grace rested her chin on top of Gianna’s head, sitting there blankly.

The doorbell suddenly rang.

Grace flinched, her knee accidentally hitting the corner of the coffee table. She gasped in pain but didn't bother to rub it, stumbling to the door.

“Damien…”

But when she opened the door, full of hope, it was Lottie Grant and Mark standing on the threshold.

“Lottie? Mark?”

Grace was taken aback.

Lottie Grant looked weary and travel-worn, while Mark stood behind her with two large hiking backpacks.

“Not happy to see us?”

Lottie Grant’s tone was flat.

“Of course not!” Grace stepped aside to let them in. “Weren’t you two in Vernalia? What are you doing back?”

Lottie and Mark had left for Vernalia before New Year’s Eve, saying they wanted to explore the country’s natural beauty.

Lottie walked in, comforting her as she went. “First Ivy’s incident, and now something this big happening to the Clarke family. I was worried you couldn't handle it alone. How could I be in the mood for sightseeing?”

Grace gave a bitter smile and gestured for Mrs. Lew to pour them some hot tea.

“I’m fine.”

“Yes, you’re much stronger than before.” Lottie took a sip of her tea. “But I have to tell you, I think there’s more to this than meets the eye.”

Grace’s hand paused. “What do you mean?”

Lottie glanced at Mark, who was now playing with Gianna, and lowered her voice. “We ran into an old ‘friend’ in Vernalia, someone who deals in information. I had just seen the news and was about to head back when he gave me a tip.”

Grace’s heart leaped into her throat.

“Someone on the dark web predicted that The Myriad Galleria was going to have a problem,” Lottie said, her brow furrowed. “And the suffix on that user’s ID was a scale.”
