Damian's brow furrowed slightly, his gaze at Blaze turning sharp and dangerous.
"What's got you so cheerful?" Damian asked, frowning.
Isabelle took a sip of the camel milk. "Ran into an old friend. I gave her a little gift."
A one-way ticket to the orthopedic ward and a long vacation.
She giggled softly to herself.
Within minutes, commotion erupted from the restroom.
Fenella was carried out by a group of people.
Damian followed Isabelle's gaze to the scene.
She never let herself get wronged.
"Let's go home. I'm exhausted..." Isabelle pressed a hand to her stomach, feeling bloated. I just want to lie down right here.
Damian nodded. "Alright."
They both stood and headed for the elevator.
Damian wrapped an arm around her shoulders, glancing sideways at Blaze, who was watching them.
In just two seconds, it felt like a hundred silent confrontations passed between them.
"You have a grudge against him?" Isabelle's eyes were on Damian's knitted brows.
He tightened his arm around her.
Of course I do.
Damian could read lips. He knew every word Blaze had said to Isabelle that day at Mountain Roots Estate.
"Keep your distance from him," he said.
"I'll listen to you." Without a second thought, Isabelle followed him into the elevator.
Blaze was handsome, but Isabelle didn't consider him her type.
For the next few days, Damian moved all his meetings to the villa.
He held conferences in slippers and loungewear, the picture of laziness.
Isabelle, already feeling unwell, felt even worse seeing all these people around.
Fortunately, all the work was successfully wrapped up by the third day.
That day, they were to attend the 70th birthday party for Damian's former sergeant, Callum Savage.
After this event, they would depart for Cross Manor to spend Christmas.
Being so close to the holiday, the party was particularly crowded.
Damian parked the Rolls-Royce Cullinan in the small parking area.
A servant from Savage Manor came out to greet them. "Mr. Cross, Ms. Foster."
Maddox, standing at the entrance of Savage Manor, watched them step out of the same car. His brow furrowed briefly before his expression smoothed over.
The rumor in the industry was that Damian had a kept woman. He never imagined it would be her.
He prided himself on never misjudging people. I guess there's a first time for everything.

Maddox confirmed it. A slight smile touched Damian's lips. What a coincidence.
