Sabrina quickly fetched the first-aid kit. "Let me put some medicine on your face. You can't just leave it like this."
As she treated Martin's injuries, Sabrina commented, "The Lancaster family is truly vicious and ruthless. And to think Brandon still considers them relatives. What kind of relative would strike so hard?"
Martin grumbled, "They're a bunch of brutes. There's no use reasoning with them. I don't know what Brandon is thinking, wanting to get close to them."
"Well, they are the Lancasters, his mother's family.
I suppose I'm the outsider in this house now. I can't believe the respect those two boys showed me these past two years was all fake.
Now they see how well you treat me, and they have a problem with it."
Martin said, "Don't mind them. They're grown up and don't rely on me anymore. They can do whatever they want. I was planning to go see the Blake elders, but with this face, I'm afraid I can't go out. We'll have to postpone it for a couple of days."
"Don't rush. Your health is more important. The Blakes aren't going anywhere, are they?"
They certainly weren't going anywhere. But in truth, Martin wasn't confident he could persuade the Blake elders to accept Bella.
He was afraid they would shut him down, and he'd end up being humiliated along with her.
This provided a legitimate excuse to delay the visit. Perhaps if he waited a couple of days, Sebastian would solve the problem himself.

That morning, Bella had brought a fruit cup to the office and delivered it to Sebastian's office personally.
