Martin's words shocked both the lawyer and Sabrina.
A voluntary confession?
The lawyer nodded. "Of course. If Ms. Mercer confesses voluntarily, there won't be any problem. We wouldn't even need other witnesses to convict her. It's just..."
The lawyer hesitated. "That doesn't seem very likely, does it? Why would Ms. Mercer voluntarily confess? It's human nature to avoid taking responsibility. Who would just admit their guilt?"
Sabrina echoed his sentiment. "Exactly, why would she confess?"
Martin said, "That's where I come in. Honey, don't worry. I'll make sure you get your justice. A voluntary confession? I will make her confess and walk into that prison herself. Would that make you feel better?"
Sabrina offered a faint smile but didn't answer.
Seeing that small hint of a smile, Martin felt a wave of relief. All that mattered was her happiness.
With that in mind, Martin began to strategize how to make Lillian confess.
Thinking it over, he realized he never should have let Lillian take her mother and grandmother. If he had them now, he could use them as leverage, and Lillian would have given in without a second thought. She would have walked right into prison herself.
Damn it. He never saw this coming.
Of course, he never imagined his own daughter could be so ruthless.
As Martin left the hospital, he remembered something.
Besides her mother and grandmother, Lillian should at least care about her own life, right?
She was already sick and dying. What would happen to her mother and grandmother after she was gone?
So, Martin drove directly to Lillian's company.
He didn't want to waste a single second. He knew Lillian was at work, so he went straight there.
