Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 425

Ethan's comment earned him a glare from Leonard.

What did a single guy know?

He was just a workhorse with no romantic genes whatsoever.

He completely failed to grasp the wonderful, intense, and ambiguous feelings they were sharing.

Lillian nodded, sitting back down to soothe Leonard. "He's right. The work I have right now isn't suitable for working from home. You just be good, eat your meals, get plenty of rest, and focus on your health. That's the most important thing for you right now."

"Okay," Leonard replied.

Ethan, standing nearby, was completely speechless. He slapped his forehead. "Ms. Mercer, I'll wait for you downstairs. Please hurry up."

By the time Lillian got in the car, Ethan had the pedal to the floor, but they were still late.

When Lillian arrived at her office, Celia Bennett was already waiting there.

"Sorry, I got held up by something this morning. Please, have a seat, Miss Bennett."

Celia Bennett nodded and sat down across from Lillian.

Emma Ruiz poured Lillian a glass of water and quickly took her own seat. As the company's acting president now, she had to personally follow up on many matters.

Celia Bennett said, "Ms. Mercer, I'll be brief. We worked overtime this weekend and have achieved a breakthrough. The upgraded program you developed has been perfectly integrated with the factory's drones. When do you have time to come see the successful test flight?"

Lillian glanced at Emma, who, despite being the acting president, still doubled as her assistant. "Ms. Mercer is quite busy for the next couple of days. The earliest would probably be Wednesday."

"That's no problem," Celia Bennett said. "We can use the next two days to run some internal checks. If there are any issues, we still have time to address them."

Lillian nodded. "Good. Miss Bennett, you know that I want you to do more than just this."
