When Bella said that, Debbie, on the other end of the line, covered her mouth, her eyes wide with shock.
She couldn't believe it.
This was thirty million dollars, after all. Not a small sum.
She couldn't believe it. Bella was just a woman by her son's side, and yet she had so much money at her disposal.
Debbie's mind was reeling.
She was Sebastian's biological mother, yet he was so stingy with her, giving her a small amount each year. He wasn't nearly as generous as Bella.
Debbie reined in her excitement and quickly agreed to send her account number.
After receiving the account number, Bella promised, “Don't worry, I'll transfer the money right away. It's a small thing, I can handle it myself. You don't need to bother Sebastian; he's been very busy lately.”
Debbie was still trying hard to control her emotions. “Alright, Bella. Thank you so much.”
“Please, don't mention it. I'm honored that you thought of me first when you needed help.”
As she spoke, Bella could hear someone calling for Debbie on the other end, so she didn't say much more.
Debbie also exchanged a few more words and then hurried off.
Bella hung up, received the text with the account number, and got her laptop to transfer thirty million dollars to Debbie.
Thirty million dollars. After clicking the final confirmation to send the money, Bella felt no worry or fear. Instead, she thought that since Debbie had asked her for a loan, their relationship would surely become much closer.
Standing on her side and speaking up for her would naturally become a given.
Nothing else mattered.
