"He's a smart man. After a while, he probably almost forgot that Lillian was an ex-convict. This should serve as a good reality check for him. The day Lillian goes back to prison, he'll definitely bring up marriage with me again."
Sabrina said, "That's good. And you have Debbie supporting you. My dear daughter, your future and status are even more secure than mine. Helping you achieve this has always been my wish. Now, you're sure to have a better life than I do."
Bella replied, "Mom, it's all because of you that I've gotten this far. Without your support, where would I be today?"
Sabrina smiled. The mother and daughter held hands, just as they had years ago when they left her ex-husband's home.
Back at the Mercer estate, after the guests had all left, Martin was anxious to get to the hospital but was stopped by Brandon.
He couldn't hold it in any longer. There were some things he had to say now, or he might not get another chance.
"Dad, is this family about to fall apart?"
Martin retorted, "What nonsense are you talking about? The family is fine. How is it falling apart? We just kicked out one ungrateful daughter and disowned her. What, are you two brothers going to disown me too?"
Brandon replied, "I wouldn't dare, but there are some things I have to say. Dad, Lillian is your biological daughter. Even if she did something wrong, Bella has already called the police. Lillian is on parole, so her sentence will surely be extended. Do you really want to ruin her entire life, or do you want to see her die in prison?"
