Debbie continued removing her makeup. After washing her face, she came out and drank a cup of coffee Bella had personally brewed for her, then went back to take a shower.
Bella cleaned the coffee machine and cup. While she was tidying up, an impatient Sabrina sent several messages asking when they would arrive.
The server in the private room had already asked a few times when they could start serving the food.
Bella glanced at the time. It was already past noon, but what could she do besides wait?
She couldn’t possibly rush her, could she?
By the time Debbie finished her shower, nearly half an hour had passed.
By then, Sabrina had sent several more consecutive messages. Bella soothed her mother and then helped Debbie blow-dry her hair.
Then she waited as Debbie put on her makeup and changed her clothes. By the time they were finally ready to go downstairs, it was already one-thirty.
At this point, it wasn’t just Sabrina who was starving; Bella was hungry too, but she had no choice but to wait.
When Debbie entered the private room, Sabrina was on the verge of dozing off.
She snapped her head up when she heard Bella say, “Mom.”
Knowing how important Debbie was to her daughter’s plans, Sabrina could only swallow her frustration.
Putting on a smile, she immediately walked over to greet her. “Oh, you must be Ms. Harris! You look so young and beautiful. Bella told me you’re two years older than me, but you look at least ten years younger!”
