"Lillian wasn't at fault in what happened with Grandma, and she even took the fall for someone else. You should know that. Or has it been so long, and you've heard the lie so many times, that you've started to believe it's the truth?"
Martin blushed slightly, unable to argue further.
And so, he agreed.
"Alright. After work today, you and your brother will come with me to bring Lillian home. You also arrange for the doctors and nurses.
"At home, have someone clean out Lillian's room and restore it to how it used to be.
"She hasn't lived at home for so many years. I wonder if she'll even be used to it."
Brandon reassured him, "Don't worry, Dad. It's her own home, how could she not be used to it? Besides, your birthday is in a few days. If we hold the party at home and Lillian is living here, it will look good to outsiders.
"She caused a scene at your wedding, but if she moves back in now, people will just think you've reconciled. It sends a good signal to the public that your family is harmonious."
Martin was extremely pleased with this reasoning.
That would be for the best. He had been the subject of gossip before, but if Lillian moved back home, people would surely think more highly of him, seeing him as someone capable of handling all aspects of his life.
Brandon knew his father well. He knew what to say to appeal to him.
The Mercer family moved quickly.
Since Brandon was offering high salaries, hiring doctors and nurses was easy. He found people quickly, and they reported to the Mercer residence that very afternoon.
After settling things with Brandon, Martin informed Sabrina of his decision.
