Sebastian persisted, “Lillian, you’re not well. Let me take you to the VIP section up front.”
Sebastian felt a pang of regret. He had signed the divorce papers too quickly, and then the mix-up that followed had caused the whole situation to spiral out of his control.
Lillian smiled faintly and glanced at Victor.
That guy, Victor, had a knack for certain things. He immediately caught her cue and walked up with a smile.
He extended his arm toward her. “Ms. Mercer, shall we go in?”
Lillian took Victor’s arm.
It was a standard social courtesy, but in Sebastian’s eyes, it was jarring.
His gaze was fixed on where their arms were linked.
For a moment, his competitive male ego was stirred, leaving him with a sense of unease.
What was Lillian trying to do?
She had to be doing it on purpose.
He knew there was likely nothing going on between Lillian and Victor.
But seeing them like this made it seem as if there was.
The suggestive phone call from earlier only made it worse.
Sebastian gritted his teeth and took a step to follow them, but a voice from behind stopped him.
“Sebastian, there you are! I’ve been looking all over for you. Everything is ready for the conference. It’s about to start, but when you weren't in your seat, I felt like something was missing.”
Bella came up and looped her arm through his, her voice tinged with a playful, pleading tone.
