Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 279

Brandon knew that even though he was upset with Lillian for selling her shares to Sabrina and her mother, his sister still had value.

Lately, Sebastian had clearly shown more concern for her.

If even Sebastian was acting that way, Brandon didn't believe his father could truly be indifferent enough to ignore her completely.

And even if he could be that cold, bringing up their grandmother would force him to reconsider.

It was a well-known fact that the old lady adored Lillian.

Not long after Lillian was born, his grandmother had completely handed over the company to Martin.

After that, she stayed home to help raise Lillian.

Of their three siblings, Lillian was the only one whose upbringing and education their grandmother had been fully involved in, never missing a moment.

The two of them were closer than anyone.

After their mother's accident, Lillian lived exclusively with their grandmother, who personally took care of her every need, from her clothes to her food.

After speaking, Brandon watched his father's expression.

Martin’s brow furrowed slightly, then relaxed. “Has she seen a doctor?”

Brandon replied, “She has a doctor there, but I don’t trust them. I can’t find out her exact condition, and she won’t tell me.

I’m at a loss. Maybe if you go and ask her yourself, Dad, she’ll be more willing to talk to you.”

Martin couldn't ignore the thought of his mother. Even though she was in a vegetative state, if she were to wake up and find out about Lillian’s condition, she would be heartbroken.

Looking at the work on his desk, Martin frowned. “Forget it. I’ll wait until after Bella’s conference tonight. I’ll find time to see her then.

That ungrateful daughter. She never comes home to see me. She’s not young anymore, yet all she knows is how to be rebellious.

She didn’t learn a thing from her time in prison. Still fighting with the family at every turn. Why can’t she be more like Bella?

If she were half as obedient as Bella, she wouldn’t have ended up like this, sick with no family around to care for her.

And to think her grandmother raised her. She didn’t learn to be sensible or respectful at all.

She can’t even hold on to her own husband or her own son.

Now she’s sick, with no one by her side.

She brought this on herself.”

Martin no longer doubted that Lillian was genuinely sick; he just kept scolding her for being disobedient and foolish.

He was willing to take care of her; she was his daughter, after all.

But whenever he thought about Lillian's rebellious acts, any shred of affection he felt for her vanished.

Especially on his wedding day with Sabrina, when she had utterly humiliated him in front of so many guests.
