Brandon answered the phone, and Bella’s voice came through. “Brandon, you and Colin should move back home. A family should live together; it’s more lively that way.
When you stay in a hotel, it makes it seem like our family is falling apart.
Mr. Mercer and my mother have really missed you these past few days.
We’ve been making all your favorite foods at home, just waiting for you.”
Brandon gave a noncommittal reply. “Okay, I got it.”
He didn't say much more.
He didn't believe for a second that the old man wanted them back.
They had just had a huge fight in the office that morning.
And the idea that Sabrina wanted them back was even more unbelievable.
It was probably just to keep up appearances for outsiders.
In reality, now that they were one big happy family, why would they want the two brothers back?
Wouldn't they just be an eyesore?
Bella continued to persuade him for a few more moments, then mentioned that the new project needed talented people, and she happened to know some she could recommend.
After hanging up, Brandon turned to Colin and said, “Later, have someone come over and pack our things from the hotel. We’re moving back home.”
Colin was so shocked he forgot about his food. “Brandon, are you serious? We’re moving back already?
But… but…
We were the ones who moved out, and Dad is still angry with us. Isn’t it a bad time to move back?
It makes us look… it makes us look like we have no pride.
