Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 239

After securing the shares, Bella immediately called Sebastian to let him know he no longer needed to delay Brandon.

Sebastian didn't ask how she had managed it in just over an hour, simply acknowledging her with a casual response.

After hanging up with Bella, he personally transferred the money to Brandon. He figured Brandon would call him back after receiving the funds, and sure enough, he did. Sebastian explained that he had been busy with something earlier.

Brandon thanked him profusely before hanging up. With the money secured, he rushed straight to Halfridge Villas, where Lillian was staying.

Lillian knew how furious Brandon would be once he found out the shares had been sold to someone else, so she simply instructed the staff not to let him in.

When Brandon tried calling Lillian again, her phone was off.

Just then, the lawyer was leaving after finishing his business. He saw Brandon and approached him. "Mr. Mercer, you're here about the shares, aren't you?"

Brandon recognized Lillian's personal lawyer.

"Yes. Now that the price is settled, we can sign the contract, right? My sister has authorized you to act on her behalf, hasn't she? She didn't look well. If she's not up to it, I can sign with you, correct?"

The lawyer smiled. "Mr. Mercer, you're too late. The contract has already been signed. Ms. Mercer no longer holds any shares in the Mercer Group. If you're interested in acquiring some, you'll have to approach other shareholders."

"What?" Brandon said, thunderstruck.

Did that mean Lillian had actually sold the shares to Sabrina and her daughter?

He couldn't believe his ears.

"Is she kidding me? These are our mother's shares! Even if she had to sell them, she can't just sell them to Sabrina and Bella! Where is Lillian? I need to see her. I have to see her right now and ask her what the hell she thinks she's doing. Does she even know who her family is? Who her real family is?"

The lawyer sighed. "I'm sorry, Mr. Mercer, but I advise you to leave. Ms. Mercer isn't feeling well and has already gone to rest. Before she did, I heard her instruct the maids to have the bodyguards throw you out if you cause a scene here."
