Who knew, one day the Mercer Group might truly become worthless. Her mother's shares, far from being worth a hundred and thirty million, might not even find a buyer.
Looking at Bella's signature, Lillian smiled faintly. She signed her mother's name, Eleanor Lancaster, next to it, and then her own name in the space for the representative.
Emma Ruiz came over. "Ms. Mercer, the one hundred and thirty million has been deposited into Ms. Lancaster's personal account."
Lillian nodded. "Have someone take this contract down. The transaction is complete."
Emma handed the contract to a maid.
When the contract was back in Bella's hands, she saw the signature, and her expression darkened.
"Since Lillian is here, why won't she come out? What's with the mystery act? Is there a problem with this contract?"
The lawyer interjected, "Miss Ward, please be mindful of your words. I have already processed the official change of share ownership for you. What problem could there be? If you have any concerns, you can raise them now. You can even void the contract, and we will refund your money. It's not as if there aren't other buyers for these shares."
Bella knew that was true. She had secured the shares only because she had acted quickly enough. A little slower, or a little less attentive to Sebastian's movements, and those shares would now belong to Brandon.
