Listening to him through the monitor, Lillian was rendered speechless.
Her brother was just so… pathetic.
With that, Lillian picked up her phone and found Sabrina’s number in her blocked list. After her release from prison, Sabrina had tried to contact her. As soon as Lillian realized who it was, she had blocked the number immediately.
Now, however, she needed to make a call.
Sabrina answered in under ten seconds. Quick on the draw.
But as soon as the call connected, Lillian noted the profound silence on the other end. It sounded like Sabrina had found a private place where no one could overhear their conversation.
Lillian let out a cold chuckle. “Heh…”
Sabrina’s voice came through the line. “Lillian, what a surprise. I never thought you’d call me. After keeping my number blocked for so long, what’s with the sudden call? Did you hear the good news about me and your father? Congratulations, Lillian. You’re not the youngest in the family anymore. In ten months, you’ll have a little brother or sister.”
“Is that so?” Lillian replied coolly. “Two years ago, I stopped considering myself a Mercer. The children of the Mercer family have nothing to do with me.
In fact, I should be congratulating you, Ms. Ward. Another baby on the way. With this child, your position in the family is secure.
