Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 82

Emma continued walking toward the office. Having heard their entire conversation, she wasn't bothered in the slightest.

Most people in the company didn't know the full story about the Miss Lane incident. They only saw her as arrogant, unreasonable, jealous, and hot-tempered, but they didn't know about Miss Lane's ulterior motives concerning Evan.

In truth, she had overreacted and made too big of a scene. It was wrong of her to attack a young woman like that in public, but she had also paid a price for it by losing her child.

But whether those two would be fired didn't depend on her; it depended on their job performance.

Back in the office, Emma picked up the copy of Starline Weekly she had been reading and flipped through a few pages. After a while, she heard a commotion outside.

She looked toward the office door. The noise grew louder, sounding like someone was standing at the entrance, shouting. The soundproofing was good, so the voice was muffled and indistinct.

Emma put down the magazine, followed the sound, and opened the door.

"Mrs. Cooper..."

Jason was standing at the office entrance, using his body to block a man in front of him.

Hearing Jason call the woman behind him Mrs. Cooper, the man he was blocking shoved him aside and stood panting in front of Emma.

"You must be Mrs. Cooper, right?!"
