Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 66

When Evan got out of the car, a man in a suit immediately walked over, bowed respectfully, and said, “Mr. Cooper, dinner has been arranged for you. Would you like to dine now?”

Evan didn’t answer, instead looking at the woman beside him. “Do you want to eat first, or walk around for a bit?”

Emma was starving, but she didn’t want to miss the stunning sunset. “Could you arrange a table for us where we can see the view while we eat?” she asked.

Mr. Webb nodded politely. “Of course, ma’am.”

Evan was one of Firefly Manor’s biggest investors; it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call him the owner. For Mr. Webb, arranging a prime viewing spot was not only possible but essential.

Dinner was a French course.

The main dishes were Boeuf Bourguignon, escargots, and foie gras.

For soup, there was French onion and bouillabaisse.

Dessert was crêpes and a Napoleon pastry.

Looking at the table full of what the internet would call “pretty food,” all Emma wanted was a table of stir-fried dishes. Spicy, flavorful comfort food that she could eat with a plate of white rice.

But despite her thoughts, she said nothing. Everything had already been prepared, and it would be a waste of food to change it now.

She picked up her knife and fork, ready to start, when Evan spoke. “Could we switch this to some spicy food? I’m more accustomed to it.”

“Of course, Mr. Cooper.”

Mr. Webb immediately instructed the staff to clear the table.

Emma watched as the dishes were removed one by one, then glanced at Evan, who was sitting across from her.
