Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 61

Now that she was awake, Emma wasn't in the habit of eating and then going back to sleep.

Seeing how slowly Evan was wiping his face, she snatched the towel from his hand, dried her face in a few quick motions, then went to the bathroom to brush her teeth before emerging wrapped in a robe.

“Are we eating breakfast in the room?”

It was a question.

Evan was a bit of a neat freak and somewhat obsessive-compulsive, hating to eat in private spaces like the bedroom or the car. So, seeing him bring breakfast into the room, Emma looked at him with confusion.

Evan glanced at Emma, then at the sandwich on the nightstand.

He seemed a little unsure of himself, only managing to say, “We can eat wherever you want.”

Emma used to have a terrible habit of eating in bed, but after being with Evan for so long, those bad habits had gradually been corrected.

She picked up the sandwich and milk and headed out of the room.

“I don’t eat in bed anymore. Let’s go down to the dining table.”

“…Alright.”

Evan followed her downstairs.

At the dining table, they both ate the same kind of sandwich.

Evan looked at her, hesitating for a long moment before finally asking, “You don’t have anything going on today, do you?”

Emma paused mid-chew, looking at Evan quizzically. She couldn’t shake the feeling that he was acting abnormally today.

Since when did he have to ask if she had time?
