Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 251

The emergency room was on the fourteenth floor.

Evan stayed at the hospital until the early hours of the morning. As he was leaving, it suddenly occurred to him that Thomas was also in this hospital. According to the directory, the hematology department where Thomas was staying was just upstairs.

He hesitated for a moment. Since he was already here, he figured he might as well pay him a visit.

But then he glanced at his watch. It was nearly midnight. Realizing Mr. Carter was probably asleep, Evan dismissed the idea and pressed the button for the elevator, leaving the hospital.

Emma was sound asleep early the next morning, still in a daze, when the phone on her nightstand suddenly erupted with a series of urgent rings.

Normally, Emma didn't have many friends or colleagues in Averton City. Besides her ex-husband and his assistant, no one else ever called her.

But the phone kept ringing, one shrill burst after another, making it impossible to ignore.

With a sigh of resignation, Emma rolled over and grabbed the phone from her nightstand, where it had been charging all night.

"Hello…"

She didn't even open her eyes, just pulled the phone back under the covers with her and answered instinctively.

"Hello! Emma! It's me!"

Her mother's familiar voice came through the line.

Emma pulled the phone away from her ear and squinted at the screen. Confirming it was her mother, she pressed it back to her ear, still groggy. "What is it, Mom?"

"I—I just got to that train station of yours. I don't know how to get to you. Can you come pick me up?"
