Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 190

"You're going to be the death of me!"

Mrs. Hayes shot up from her chair, went to the kitchen, and came back with two glasses of honey lemon water.

"I told you not to drink the hard stuff, Robert! Do my words just go in one ear and out the other?!"

Seeing Mr. Hayes still clutching his glass, Mrs. Hayes angrily snatched it away and pushed the honey lemon water in front of him.

She had brought out two glasses from the kitchen. One was for Mr. Hayes, and the other was naturally for Evan.

Compared to Mr. Hayes, who was so drunk his eyes were unfocused, Evan seemed much better off, with just a slight flush on his face.

Eric couldn't help but be impressed. "Wow, Evan, you can really hold your liquor! Not many people around here can drink my dad under the table!"

It was true. In Riverside Millford, if Robert claimed to be the second-best drinker, no one would dare claim to be the first.

So it was no surprise that Eric was shocked to see his father completely wasted while his brother-in-law seemed perfectly fine.

Evan had a faint smile on his lips and in his eyes. He didn't react to Eric's words, just kept smiling.

"Hey, Evan, why aren't you answering me?"

Eric waved a hand in front of Evan's face. When there was still no response, he finally realized what was going on and turned to Emma. "Emma! Evan's drunk! I thought he was fine!"

Emma glanced at the man beside her, his face slightly red from the alcohol, but said nothing.
