Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 184

With that, Emma got out of the car with her brother.

She waited until she saw the black Bentley merge back into traffic and disappear from view before turning and walking back toward the curb.

"Sis, aren't we going to the mall? What are you doing?"

Eric followed his sister in confusion, watching as she hailed a cab, seemingly headed somewhere else. He was curious.

"Don't worry about me."

Emma rummaged through her purse and pulled out a handful of bills, stuffing them into Eric's hand. "You go have fun somewhere. If Mom or Dad calls, just tell them I'm with you. I have to take care of something right now. I'll come find you when I'm done."

A green cab had already pulled over. Parking was restricted on this stretch of road, so the driver was honking impatiently.

"Okay, I'm leaving now. You be safe."

Without waiting to see her brother's reaction, Emma quickly walked over, opened the back door, and got into the cab.

Eric was completely baffled. He stood frozen on the sidewalk, clutching the crumpled bills in his hand as he watched the cab carrying Emma drive farther and farther away. It took him a long moment to process what had just happened.

He looked down and counted the bills in his hand. There were eleven of them!

Oh my god, he was rich!

With a jolt of excitement, Eric completely forgot about his sister's strange behavior. His mind was filled with plans to call his friends, go out to eat, and hit up an arcade.

Emma arrived at Riverton City Airport around 2:40 PM.

Nathan's flight was due in just twenty minutes. She stood at the T1 exit, where a strong wind was blowing. She had dressed too lightly, and after just a few minutes, her legs began to tremble from the cold.
