Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 133

The man's deep voice came from the other end of the line.

It was Nathan.

Emma tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and murmured a soft "Mhm" before asking, "Is something wrong, Dr. Allen?"

Something wrong?

Her question sent a surge of anger through Nathan.

"Emma, I thought I made it crystal clear the other day. Your body is in no condition to carry a pregnancy. Do you understand?"

The man's words were fast and sharp. Though he was trying to control himself, he couldn't hide the fury in his voice.

Emma stared at the white wall in front of her, momentarily at a loss for words, and fell silent.

"Your immune system is already compromised. Pregnancy suppresses it further to prevent rejection of the fetus. The combined effect makes you highly susceptible to severe infections and could trigger complications like sepsis. You can't entertain any fantasy of carrying this baby to term! You need to terminate it as soon as possible, otherwise it will destroy you!"

His urgent voice crackled over the phone.

Emma stared blankly at the white wall, her hand still resting on her stomach. Just a moment ago, she had been filled with the joy of knowing her baby was healthy, its heartbeat stable. Now, all that hope was shattered once again.

"...I understand."

After a long silence, Emma finally managed to get the two words out, her voice so calm it was devoid of any emotion.

Her tone made Nathan's heart ache. He softened his voice and explained gently, "I'm sorry, I was too worked up just now—"

"It's okay. You're just looking out for me."

Emma cut him off quietly. "I'm coming up to the 15th floor now. I'll be there in a minute."

"...Alright."

Not five minutes later, she appeared in his office again.
