Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 121

Emma left after breakfast.

When she arrived at the hospital, Nathan was nowhere to be found. Sandra explained, “Mr. Allen was in surgery all night. He hasn’t come out yet.”

Emma knew that surgeries could last for hours, but she was still struck by the fact that he had been in the operating room since last night and still wasn't finished.

She decided not to rush into her chemotherapy session today. Instead, she found a place to sit, wanting to wait for Nathan to finish. She needed to ask him about her current physical condition and tell him she was pregnant to get his advice.

Emma sat on a bench in the hallway outside his office. People bustled back and forth, and the environment was noisy, but she gently placed a hand on her stomach and stared at a hospital poster on the wall, her thoughts drifting far away.

After being up all night, Nathan walked out of the operating room with heavy steps. He changed out of his scrubs and returned to the Hematology department on the 15th floor.

Before he even reached his office, he spotted the woman sitting on the hallway bench from a distance, staring blankly at the wall, lost in thought.

“Why aren’t you wearing more on such a cold day?”

Nathan casually offered Emma the coat that was draped over his arm.

The sudden appearance of the coat in front of her pulled her out of her daze. She looked up and saw that Nathan had returned.

“Mr. Allen...”

Emma stood up to face him but didn't take the coat.

Seeing her refusal, Nathan didn't seem to mind. He simply withdrew his hand, opened his office door, and walked inside.

“Why are you here so early today?”

Usually, she didn't arrive at the hospital until around two in the afternoon. Nathan glanced at his watch; it was exactly eleven-thirty.

He hadn't eaten anything since starting surgery last night. He opened a thermos, poured himself a cup of hot water, and sat down. He then pulled open a drawer and took out a loaf of bread.

“Want some?”
