Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 100

Emma’s face flushed as she listened. Thinking about how she had been ignoring everyone while on her phone, she felt a delayed sense of embarrassment.

“I’m sorry…” she apologized for her earlier rudeness.

Justin, however, just smiled and waved his hand. “No, no, please don’t misunderstand. I didn’t mean anything by it. I just thought you seemed really distant, but after talking to you, I realized… hey, you’re not. So I just thought… well, it’s amazing!”

As Justin spoke, he nodded his head with each point. With his fair skin, delicate features, and young age, the gesture wasn’t annoying or slick; it was rather endearing.

Emma smiled again. “Thank you for last night.”

Although she had already thanked him once, Emma felt the need to say it again. In that situation last night, so many people had watched her fall into the water, yet no one had been willing to help. Except for him.

At this, Justin’s smile faded. He adopted a thoughtful expression, hesitating for a moment before asking, “Do you remember how you fell in?”

Even though there were many guests at the banquet last night, most were in the main hall. Very few people had gone outside.

Emma didn’t have many clear memories of last night. She only remembered being startled by a shout. She had wanted to leave, but as she reached the exit of the pool area, a hand had shoved her from the darkness.

Beyond that, her memory was a blur.

She shook her head, her brow furrowing slightly. “Someone pushed me. But unfortunately, I didn’t see who it was.”

The sound of her voice made Evan and Stephen pause their business conversation.

More accurately, Evan’s attention was captured by her words, forcing Stephen to halt their discussion.
