Inside the car, Maeve looked completely disheveled.
Her hair was wild and damp, and her bare arms were covered in shocking, charred wounds.
It looked exactly as if she had been severely electrocuted.
"Maeve, are you alright?"
At that moment, Maeve was tightly gripping the pen she never went anywhere without, fiercely scribbling away in a notebook.
The merciless lightning had left brutal marks on her smooth, luminous skin.
Yet she remained completely oblivious to it all, acting as if nothing had happened.
Even seeing Andres rushing over in a panic didn't slow her writing speed in the slightest.
"Hold on a second, just one last set of formulas."
Andres was so anxious his voice cracked.
"Maeve, you're hurt."
Maeve didn't even look up.
"Just a few hits from a Heavenly Tribulation, it's fine."
Had he not seen it with his own eyes, Andres never would have believed such a terrifying thing as a Heavenly Tribulation actually existed in this world.
As they spoke, another bolt of lightning shot through the car window, striking inside.
Andres lunged forward to shield her in his arms, but she held up a hand to stop him.
In that split second, Maeve took the lightning strike head-on.
Even though the bolt didn't touch Andres, he could physically feel the agonizing pain she must be enduring.
Fighting through the intense shock of the strike, she gritted her teeth and said,
"Give me one more minute."
"The experiment I've been working on recently hit a bottleneck, but when that lightning struck me just now, everything suddenly clicked."
Andres was utterly speechless at her reckless disregard for her own life.
"Look at the situation! And you're still worrying about writing that down?"
The speed of Maeve's pen never faltered.
"Formula 610 is on the verge of success; I obviously can't let a golden opportunity like this slip away."
