Crowned by the Man They Feared (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 585

Chapter 585 Trash

The three brothers were hanging out by the fish pool-just the three of them.

Gianna actually didn’t want Marcelo to be there.

Among the three, he was the most clear-headed and calculating.

Without him, she felt way more confident about getting Miguel and Maxwell back on her side.

But there was no way to get him to leave, so she had to just walk up to them.

“Marcelo, Miguel, Maxwell-what a coincidence, you’re all here.”

Gianna acted as if she’d just bumped into them and sat beside them.

In reality, she hated the fish pool. The tiny fish nibbling her feet made her feel sick.

But it would look bad if she didn’t sit, so she forced herself down.

“I’m leaving,” Marcelo said coldly. “This pool is full of trash. I’m not staying here.”

The second he saw that fake girl, he didn’t want to be anywhere near her.

It was pure instinct of disgust.

The fish pool was relaxing. The hot-spring fish pecking and nibbling was ticklish and oddly soothing.

But with that rotten apple around, all the comfort vanished.

Miguel and Maxwell had been resting with their eyes closed and reacted a bit slower.

When Marcelo jumped up and started moving to another pool, they finally realized what was happening.

“This isn’t just trash. It’s toxic. I’m not sticking around one more second.”

“Yeah, let’s go. If we stay near this poisonous woman, my heart might act up again.”

Their faces showed that they felt disgusted to the core.

Just as they were about to leave, Gianna jumped up and grabbed them,

“Miguel, Maxwell, do you really hate me that much?

“I only did those things because Mom forced me. I didn’t choose it.

“She said she nearly died giving birth to me, that I’d never been a good daughter. She cried and begged me to help her just once, or she’d die right in front of me.

“I was scared she’d do something drastic, so I softened and agreed.

“But I swear I didn’t mean it. I never thought things would get this bad. I regret it so much. I feel awful!”

Tears ran down her face as she poured it all out. It wasn’t the first time she pulled this trick.

She’d humbled herself, explained sincerely, and given what sounded like a perfectly reasonable

excuse.

Surely they’d feel something, right?

After all, they used to favor and spoil her so much.

“Gianna, do you think I’m stupid? Or an idiot?” Maxwell asked.

“W-what?”

Gianna froze for a second, not understanding.

“Your mom is obsessed with staying alive. Do you think she’d try to die over this? Why don’t you bring her here so I can see if she really has the guts for suicide?”

Miguel didn’t believe her. Even Maxwell, the most straightforward one in the family, wasn’t buying a word either.

Instead of sympathy, all he felt was irritation.

He had the urge to punch her.

“I-I just meant that I was forced. I didn’t want to hurt you.”

Swallowing her anger, Gianna rushed to explain, “I never forgot our years together!

“I miss you guys so much. I want things to go back to the happy times at the Nygard Residence.”
