Chapter 505 Cracks in the Bloodline
So the Nygard brothers told Amelia everything, leaving nothing out.

They knew how deeply Emery was hurting now. Beyond the blow of discovering Raymond’s betrayal, the hardest thing for her to accept was realizing she had been kind to her rival’s daughter. Inevitably, that forced her to confront how poorly she had treated her own biological child.
Her favoritism toward her adopted daughter had wounded her real daughter, and now regret must be eating her alive.
It was not just their mother who felt remorse. Marcelo, Miguel, and Maxwell all did, to varying degrees.
Miguel and Maxwell might not feel it as sharply yet, but Marcelo had seen through everything long ago, ánd he regretted it the most.
After hearing all this, Amelia could not hide her surprise.
“So Regina finally couldn’t hold it in anymore,” she said quietly.
She had probably wanted to make it public for a long time. It was just that Gianna, that fool, was still enjoying being doted on by the Nygards, basking in their blind affection.
Now that it had come out so suddenly, Regina was surely plotting something again.
Amelia thought to herself that the cunning woman probably still did not know that Raymond had long since discovered Gianna was not his child.
She was likely still scheming, planning to use Gianna’s supposed Nygard bloodline to slowly swallow the entire family.
If Gianna’s true identity were exposed at that point, it would be quite a spectacle.
Tsk.
“Amelia, you already knew about Regina?”
“No way. You really knew all along?”
Miguel and Maxwell stared at their sister in shock. They had heard her reaction and her words, and neither could believe it.
“Yes. And if I did, or if I didn’t, what does that have to do with you?”
“Damn it. You knew and didn’t tell us. Were you afraid Gianna would steal your place?” Maxwell snapped, unable to contain himself.
He suspected she had kept quiet on purpose, probably plotting something again.
Did she just want to watch them make fools of themselves like this?
“Maxwell, if you were stupid enough to be played by Gianna and Regina, don’t blame Amelia.

“And what would tell you have changed? Would you have kicked Gianna out of the Nygards right away?
“If Amelia really wanted to profit from this, she could have exposed everything from the start. Our mother would never have treated Gianna like her own daughter after that.”
Who would willingly torment themselves by being kind to their rival’s child?
The one who stepped in to shut him down was Marcelo.
Even now, those two idiots still could not see reality clearly. If they kept getting played like monkeys, they had only themselves to blame.
Miguel and Maxwell froze after hearing Marcelo’s words.
Only then did it dawn on them that Marcelo now seemed openly hostile toward Gianna.
On the other hand, he was clearly protecting Amelia more and more.
Had he not always disliked Amelia the most in the past?
How was it that the first one to switch sides was him?
Amelia, of course, understood. Marcelo was fully awake now. He had seen Gianna for who she truly was.
With that comparison laid bare, it was only natural that he saw how much more value and benefit Amelia could bring to him, and even to the Nygards as a whole.
The question was, why should she help them at all?
“So what exactly do you want from me this time?” Amelia asked. “Are you here to morally pressure me?”
She had no interest in wasting time on them.
Whenever something went wrong at the Nygards and they could not handle it themselves, they came looking for her, waving the family banner.
Helping was treated as a given. Refusing meant being accused of lacking conscience.
She had not even planned to return to Nygard Group today. She came back only because she had uncovered some new leads.
Over the past two days, she had received a call from Truman, He was launching a new project and wanted her opinion, and possibly her participation.
She was still considering it.
Truman was half a mentor to her. He did not compare to Walter, her true mentor, but the bond between them was strong.
Neither she nor Walter were good at breaking the ice or making small talk, but with Truman around, the atmosphere was always lively.
Whenever Truman had something good, he never forgot her.
