Natalie was stunned. Why was he so determined to choose her? Wasn't he afraid of losing everything?
Seeing Terence's signature, Simon quickly snatched the contract and put it away carefully, terrified that Terence might change his mind.
Simon said excitedly, "Terence, you've signed away your position as CEO of the Lockwood Group. From now on, you shouldn't be living in the Lockwood estate either. You should move out."
Mrs. Lockwood said angrily, "You want my son to move out? You're really trying to usurp his place."
Terence said to Mrs. Lockwood, "We'll move out. I don't want Natalie to have to put up with this toxic environment either. But I'll have to trouble you, Mom, to stay here and keep Grandma company."
Of course, there was no way she would leave the Lockwood estate. If she did, she would be handing everything over to them on a silver platter. But her son had a point. If Natalie stayed, she would have to live at their mercy, and she didn't want Natalie to be wronged.
Mrs. Lockwood said, "Fine. Take Natalie and the children and go live somewhere else. Don't worry, I'll hold down the fort here. If they think they can just waltz in and take what’s yours, it’ll be over my dead body."
Natalie hadn't expected things to turn out this way, and she certainly never imagined Terence would give up the Lockwood Group for her.
"Terence, you really shouldn't have given up your position as CEO of the Lockwood Group for me," Natalie said in a worried whisper.
Terence replied, "What, you want me to end up with absolutely nothing?"
Natalie was speechless. How could he still be joking at a time like this?
"Terence, I'm really not worth it."
Just then, Terence pulled Natalie into his arms. "You mean more to me than anything else in the world," he said.
