Terence shoved the DNA test report into Kate Verdan’s face. As she looked at the results confirming she was not Natalie’s mother, she knew that nothing more she said would matter.
But she still wanted to protect her biological daughter, hoping this wouldn't affect her.
“Natalie, you’re not a Ward. Marie is the Ward family’s daughter. You can’t harm her.”
Just then, the police arrived. An officer addressed Kate Verdan, “Kate Verdan, we’ve received a report that you are suspected of swapping another person’s child at birth. Please come with us to the station to assist with the investigation.”
Kate Verdan was stunned. She never thought Natalie would actually call the police on her.
“Natalie, I’m your mother! How could you let the police take me away? Natalie, I’m your mother!”
As the police led Kate Verdan away, the room fell quiet. Everyone was frozen in shock.
So, were Natalie and Marie really switched?
Natalie had no biological connection to Kate Verdan or Martin Doyle. And although Kate Verdan had been denying Marie was her daughter…
…the moment she thought Marie had harmed Martin, her accusation that Marie had hurt her own father seemed completely genuine. So, were the two of them really switched at birth?
Marie gripped Elaine Ward’s hand tightly. “Mom, you see? They won’t leave me alone. Now they’re saying I’m not your daughter. Natalie is just relentless. She orchestrated this whole drama to make me a joke.
