Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 625

Natalie looked at Kate Verdan, just wanting an honest answer.

Kate Verdan grew tense at Natalie's words, struggling to control her emotions.

"Of course I wish you were Ms. Ward, so you could have all the wealth and luxury Marie has. But a lie can't become the truth. I was wrong, and I'm so sorry."

Fiona said, "Natalie, I think Mom is really upset. Maybe you really aren't a Ward. But no matter what, you're my sister. You'll always be my sister."

"Yes, I know."

"We're going to head back to the hospital. Even though Martin Doyle is in the ICU and we can't be with him, I just feel more at ease being there. I'm sorry, Mrs. Lockwood, but we have to go."

As Kate Verdan was about to leave with Fiona, Natalie suddenly spoke up.

"Mom, let me go to the hospital with you."

Mrs. Lockwood didn't really want Natalie to go with them. She felt her mother-in-law had a point: Kate Verdan was probably only saying this to protect her biological daughter.

But she couldn't stop Natalie.

It was impossible to prove anything without evidence.

Natalie was the daughter she had raised for over twenty years. How could she not see through her mother's intentions?

She was a terrible liar. When Kate Verdan lied, her eyes darted around uncontrollably. It was clear she was truly concerned about Marie and terrified of disrupting her life.

Natalie said, "Mom, so that's how it was. No wonder Martin Doyle treated you so poorly all these years, beating you constantly, and you still wouldn't leave him. It was all because of me. I'm sorry. I'm the reason you couldn't live your own life."

Kate Verdan grew flustered. "No, Natalie, it's not like that. I'm so happy to have you as my daughter. You're the greatest gift heaven has ever given me. I remember all the good things you've done for me. I really do love you, my daughter."

Natalie smiled faintly. She only said she *loved* her.

But when faced with a conflict, she, just like Darren and Hanley, had chosen Marie.
