Her colleagues in the meeting upstairs had heard everything clearly.
The way they were looking at her made her deeply uncomfortable, so she came right down.
When Martin Doyle saw Natalie, he put on a pitiful act. “Director, you see? I’m her father, and look at how fiercely she speaks to me. Now do you believe everything I said is true? Get rid of her, before she leaks all your institute’s secrets.”
Patrick said sternly, “Martin Doyle, the same act, twice. Don't you ever get tired of it?” Martin Doyle froze. How did this person know him? And what did he mean by “the same act”?
“How do you know me? Who are you?”
Patrick looked like he wanted to kill Martin Doyle right then and there.
“You came and caused a scene when Natalie was at the Helios Institute for Advanced Minds. If it weren’t for you, why would she have been forced to withdraw? If it weren’t for you, she never would have married Darren and wasted five years of her life. Do you have any idea how much you’ve held her back? If you hadn’t dragged her down, she would have been the youngest academician in Aurelis by now.”
Patrick knew that if Martin Doyle hadn't interfered back then, Natalie’s achievements would be no less than his own. She wouldn’t have wasted five years of her life suffering.
Natalie should have had a completely different life, and now the very person who ruined it for her had the audacity to show up again.
Martin Doyle was stunned. How could this person know about the incident at Helios five years ago?
After all, the matter had been a scandal for Helios and was never made public.
Martin Doyle's eyes turned cold. “Who are you?”
