Terence's words wiped the smug look right off Marie's face.
Her heart sank. She was terrified.
She didn't want to die. She couldn't. Her life of luxury, her identity as Ms. Ward—she hadn't even had a chance to truly enjoy it all.
"Auntie, are you okay?"
Just as Marie was about to push Hanley away, Darren suddenly rushed out. He supported Marie and asked, "Are you all right?"
Marie was on the verge of a breakdown. How could she possibly be all right?
Natalie was trying to destroy her.
Natalie watched Darren help Marie up. The father and son were truly devoted to her.
Even after finding out she was a murderer, they were still going to protect her? Really, Darren?
When Darren met Natalie's chilling gaze, his heart inexplicably clenched. But right now, he had to protect Marie.
Darren looked away, turning to Elaine Ward, who had just kicked Marie. "Why did you kick her? Just because you think she's not your biological daughter? I'm telling you, you're going to regret this!"
"Regret it? The only thing we regret is raising a monster!"
"That's right! We never should have raised that animal! Our son wouldn't be in this mess otherwise! What's the point of talking? Call the police!"
At that moment, Richard and Elaine Ward just wanted to drag Marie to the police station, hoping the authorities could get the answers they desperately needed.
Marie was so weak she felt like fainting, with Darren and Hanley supporting her on either side.
Natalie felt a sharp pain in her eyes. Terence suddenly took her hand. "Don't look at that filth. It's an eyesore."
