The pressure coming from Natalie frightened Hanley.
But… his auntie was at her breaking point!
“I… I landed on a tree, that’s how I survived. Terence didn’t save me, he tried to kill me!”
Natalie was speechless. She never imagined Hanley would become such a compulsive liar.
“Hanley, how could you say something like that!”
Natalie’s voice was filled with disappointment. “I was going to give us one last chance, but I didn’t expect you to become even more outrageous. Terence saved your life with an air cushion, yet you claim it was a tree. You can’t tell right from wrong, you’re twisting the truth. Hanley, you don’t deserve to be my son!”
Darren said angrily, “Natalie, how can you say such harsh things to a child!”
“He chose Marie over me! He chose to break with me, so what’s so harsh about what I said!”
Natalie’s fury left both Darren and Hanley speechless.
Natalie walked to the window and looked down at the swarm of reporters below.
“Those are all reporters down there. You called them too, right? You just want to blow this up to threaten Terence into releasing Marie. You’re all pathetic!”
Victoria retorted, “Natalie, since you know that, you should hurry up and tell Terence to let Marie go.”
Hanley pleaded, “Mommy, Auntie has always been a lady. She’s suffering in there, she can’t take it anymore. If you get Terence to release her, I’ll go down and explain to the reporters that it was all a misunderstanding. Otherwise…”
