“Natalie, I’ll go with you.”
Natalie stopped when she heard Terence call out from behind her.
She turned to face him. “I know you want to help me. And I know everyone in the Lockwood family has been very good to me. That’s exactly why I can’t allow my son to slander your family. If I can’t even handle something like this, I won’t be able to face any of you. So please, let me handle this myself.”
The better the Lockwood family treated her, the deeper her guilt became.
This incident was caused by her son, and she had to resolve it herself. She didn’t want to be a burden to anyone in the family.
Terence looked at Natalie, understanding her stubbornness at that moment.
“I understand.” His gaze was deep. “Natalie, I want you to know that to every single one of us in the Lockwood family, you are the most important thing. Nothing else matters. If you need us, we’ll always be here!”
Terence’s words were as warm as the sunlight streaming in.
“Terence, thank you!”
Natalie left, and Mrs. Lockwood hurried over.
“Didn’t I tell you to go with her? Why are you letting her go alone? The Cross family members are not good people. What if she gets taken advantage of? I’m worried. I have to go see for myself.”
As Mrs. Lockwood started to follow, Terence stopped her.
“Don’t go. She doesn’t want us to follow right now.”
Mrs. Lockwood paused. She seemed to understand Natalie’s feelings.
Although Hanley had been corrupted by the Cross family, he was still the child she had given birth to. It must be agonizing for a mother to see her son telling such lies.
“Alright, then.”
