Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 398

Terence's words made every member of the Ward family gasp.

This was just to prepare them? What did he mean?

Natalie looked at Terence. His expression was frigid, like a god who held life and death in his hands.

"Bring her in."

As soon as Terence spoke, a woman in her fifties was brought into the room.

When she saw the woman's face, Marie's eyes widened and she forgot to breathe.

It was Mrs. Peterson. How could she still be alive? She was supposed to be dead!

Marie fought to keep from screaming.

Terence's voice was grim. "Mr. and Mrs. Ward, you should both recognize this person, right? She was your housekeeper for twenty years."

Elaine Ward frowned. "Mrs. Peterson? I thought you went abroad to be with your son. When did you get back?"

Mrs. Peterson sighed. "Mrs. Ward, I never thought I'd see you again. Sigh. How could I dare go find my son? If I die, I die alone. I can't drag him into this."

Elaine's frown deepened.

"What do you mean by that, Mrs. Peterson?"

Marie cut in, "Mrs. Peterson, it must be your husband's gambling again, right? Loan sharks are terrifying these days, always breaking people's arms and legs. You must have spent the last year hiding from them, that's why you couldn't go see your son."

Marie shot Mrs. Peterson a fierce glare, a silent threat that if she said a word, she would be dead.

Elaine asked angrily, "Mrs. Peterson, is it because your husband started gambling again? Is that why you disappeared for a whole year?"
