Marie was practically fuming at Darren’s words.

She knew what he meant: if his brother hadn’t died, they wouldn’t have had a chance to rekindle their romance.

“Darren, today is supposed to be a happy day for us. Why do you keep bringing up your brother? What are you trying to do?”

He remembered how his own feelings of resentment had vanished the moment he saw them together. He had accepted reality then.

He had understood that Marie had chosen his brother, and from that point on, they had to respect their boundaries.

Marie suppressed her rage, her eyes turning cold. “Darren, I know you’re still upset about the choice I had to make back then. I’ll get out of this car right now!”
