Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 263

It was the feeling of a child waiting for their mother to come home before they could sleep—the feeling of being needed.

She'd never felt that way when raising Hanley.

Hanley had always been indifferent to her, never relying on her. But Lucas and Liana's dependence on her made her feel like a mother all over again. That feeling of being needed was powerful.

Lucas and Liana obediently lay down in bed, their eyes squeezed shut in an adorable effort to look sleepy.

Natalie gently patted their backs while telling them a story.

Before she had even finished, both of them had drifted off to sleep.

They were already exhausted but had forced themselves to stay awake for her.

She didn't know what to say. Natalie tucked them in and placed a soft kiss on each of their foreheads.

Just then, Terence entered the room.

"Since you like them so much, why not become their mother?" he asked.

Natalie was suddenly embarrassed, caught in the act of kissing someone else's children.

"Be their mother? I don't think I'm that fortunate."

"It's not about fortune. It's something a marriage license can solve."

Natalie was speechless. He made it sound so simple. A marriage license! Did he think it was some kind of play certificate?

"Mr. Lockwood, if you're so eager to find a mother for your children, you should get out there and start dating. I'm sure if you just say the word, Mrs. Lockwood would have a line of prospects arranged for you."

Natalie thought that if Terence was busy with dates, he wouldn't have time to tease her, which sounded like a great plan.

Terence's brow furrowed. This woman was actually telling him to... go on dates.

She really couldn't stand him.

"Dates? You're telling me to go on dates? Have I not been clear enough, or do you just not think I'm good enough for you?"
