“Natalie, you have to come quick! Come save your father! He’s been beaten unconscious by debt collectors! Please, hurry and save him!”
“What’s going on?”
“Your father called me for help. We’ve been married for over twenty years, I couldn’t just let him get beaten to death, so I came. This time it’s real, Natalie! They’re going to kill him! You have to come save him!”
Seeing the grave look on Natalie’s face, Lucas asked anxiously, “Natalie, what happened?”
Natalie’s expression was dark. “Call an ambulance,” she said into the phone.
Her mother’s voice was hysterical on the other end.
“There’s no time for an ambulance! Natalie, you’re a brilliant doctor, you have to come save him yourself! He’s really going to die! For his sake, as your father, please, can’t you save him? If your father dies, I won’t be able to live on either!”
Natalie glanced at her watch. There should still be enough time.
She told the driver, “Take these two to the venue first. I have something to take care of. I’ll make my own way there.”
As she was about to get out of the car, Lucas grabbed her arm.
“Natalie, where are you going? The competition is about to start!”
“Something came up. I have to deal with it right now. You two go ahead to the venue and wait for me. I’ll meet you there.”
With that, Natalie got out, hailed a taxi on the street, and immediately got in.
The Lockwood driver asked anxiously, “Young Master, what should we do now? Should we go to the venue?”
Lucas shot back, “What’s the point of us going if Natalie isn’t there? Follow her, quickly!”
