Hanley didn't notice Marie's displeasure.
He continued excitedly, "All my classmates really like him. Everyone wants to meet him."
Marie didn't say anything. She just didn't want to deal with the hassle.
Just then, Hanley noticed his aunt's sour expression.
Was she not going to agree?
Hanley said, crestfallen, "Aunt Marie, all my classmates are so jealous of Lucas and Liana. They get to see Patrick just by being in the Project IronMind Junior Division. They're all asking Lucas to get them Patrick's autographed photo.
"I'm becoming an outcast in class. If Patrick doesn't come to my birthday party, the other kids will look down on me even more. Lucas will replace me and become the most popular kid in our preschool."
Hearing Hanley mention Lucas, Marie's own anger flared. Lucas had been the cause of her skin itching and breaking out last time, and she still hadn't gotten her revenge!
How could she let that little brat have his moment of glory!
Marie's expression shifted instantly. Putting on a loving facade, she said, "Hanley, I had no idea you were being treated so poorly. I will absolutely not let Lucas walk all over you."
Hanley looked at Marie, touched. "Aunt Marie, I knew you were the best to me."
Marie stroked Hanley's hair as if petting a small dog.
She said, "Hanley, whatever you want, I will make it happen. After all, I'm the one who treats you best in this world."
Hanley hugged Marie. "Hanley likes Aunt Marie the most. You’re Hanley's real mommy."
Marie's spirits soared at his words. Just then, Darren walked in.
