“Nothing, nothing, I don’t understand a thing.”
Lucas tightened his arms around Aurora with pure survival instinct.
“In this lifetime, the woman I’ve tried to understand the most is you.”
The desperation on Lucas’ face grew stronger. “If women were a book, then you’re the one I’ve reread the most.”
Aurora’s cheeks warmed. “It’s broad daylight. What nonsense are you spouting?”
“I’m being serious.” Lucas’ expression turned solemn. “You can ask my assistant. Before you, I never even got close to any woman.”
By the end, his voice dropped lower and lower.
“And before that, my mom even suspected I might be…”
Aurora’s eyes widened a little. She already knew what he meant, but she still leaned closer to his lips on purpose. “Might be what? I didn’t hear you clearly.”
“G…”
The sound barely slipped out before he realized something was wrong.
Lucas’ gaze shifted instantly, full of dangerous intent.
“Alright, so Rora knows how to lie now?”
This time, he deliberately used her nickname and breathed the words right against her ear.
The fine hairs along Aurora’s ear trembled as she felt his warm breath.
In that moment, she finally understood that this man was like a lion.
He wasn’t someone she could provoke.
Because once she did, he would only come after her harder.
“Okay, okay, stop messing around.”
Aurora hurried to surrender.
She tried to get up to escape his arms, but Lucas pulled her back in an instant.
Just like that, she ended up sitting right back on his lap again.
